Buy button on specials

When I have an item with options the buy button on the main page adds the item to the cart without forcing them to pick an options - this seems like an error to me but if not, how do I turn it off?? I've gotten several orders with no option chosen and then figured out how it was happening.

Also - when there are options, should inventory be shown in the main information for the item? I am using the advanced options with inventory. It shows a total of those options in most items but some have a different number in inventory total than the options add up to - I assume due to purchases without options or something else??

This was my fault - I hadn't set the options as being required...
