guide to add field "Additional Field 1"

I have been searching for a guide to add a field "Additional Field 1" to my account / register page. is there a guide or sample somewhere?

http://www.3dcart.com/guide/ doesnt really say anything about it and I search tons of pdf's and knowledge base.

additional_field1 is the field name and when I used that input name then it did update the profile field.
