Can Shipment Weight display in cart?

Just curious if we can display total order weight in the cart. And, to take it a step further, could the ship calculator change if we go over the regular shipment options?
For example, a customer orders a lot of stuff that takes the weight above 150 pounds. Could a dynamic change take place in the cart where it would say for example, "your order exceeds 150lbs and must ship by truck freight" ?

We currently have a truck freight option for 151-500 lbs, but, still would like to display the weight in the cart and also maybe have the "popup" message about the weight.

Not sure but doubtful. I also want to display weight on the cart page to provide a shipping estimate chart for Int. customers like I coded in on our other cart. Called tech and was told couldn't be done. (unlike our other cart I believe the tech guys here)

My guess is if you cant pull up the weight to display it cant be addressed as a variable.

If you get anything new on this (or even close) Please let me know.
