Single option merges into Product Name hyperlink

When one option only is available with a product, it merges into the product hyperlink. Is this a problem for anyone else?

Example:
*** ONE OPTION ***
1. Add one option to a product:
- Color (dropdown)
- Options: Blue, Green

2. Place item in cart

3. The option becomes part of the product name. It may be on a separate line but the hyperlink extends to the product name.

*** TWO OPTIONS ***
1. Add a second option:
- Size (dropdown)
- Options: large, small

2. Place item in cart.

3. Click on "View". The options do not become part of the product link.

3DCart says that there is no solution. It appears that this is a bug fix, not a feature request. Do bug fixes need to be voted on?

That is the expected behavior, why are you saying this is a bug? does it cause the link not to work?

It should not be added into the product description hyperlink. If you have two options, the options are not merged into the hyperlink. It has a View/Hide statement and then the options display. Thus, that prevents the option from becoming part of the product name hyperlink.

Even though it displays on a separate line, a single should not become a hyperlink. If it could show "View/Hide" like it does with two options, it'd be great.

Please try it and you'll see what I mean.

If you have more than 1 option, the "view more" link appears on the view cart page.

You could edit the template if you like to change that behavior, what you are describing is the way it was intended to work.

I like the "View/Hide". It's an excellent feature. I would like it fixed so that if you have one option, the "View/Hide" would display. It would serve 3 purposes:

1) One option would not become part of the product link.
2) Consistency (View/Hide should display regardless if there is one option or many)
3) When the 1 option is a text block, it would take less room (which is the intended purpose of the View/Hide feature).

This actually bothers me a bit too, but for different reasons. For us it is more that 3d doesn't currently have gift wrap as a checkout option, so we have to offer it as a product option. What happens for us is that we get a huge amount of wasted space on our invoices and packing slips when the gift wrap text displays, but the customer did not want gift wrap. It also wastes ink when we print our invoices and packing slips to have this printed after each item: Gift Wrap - Please select the type of wrap below: None. It would be infinitely better if the gift wrap text only appeared when the gift wrap was actually selected.

So our issue is somewhat different from yours, but the cause is the same. We haven't found any suitable workaround yet, other than to hope that gift wrap becomes a checkout option in a future release.
