Product Code in Grid Page

I need to display the item/product code (Item #?) in the main grid pages (pages that display the grid of products - I have mine set with 9 products). The item/product code only displays on the individual product page when one clicks on it.

Any idea how to do this?

Also is there any way to have products sort by the item/product code as that is more logical for product sorting?

To display your product code, you'd need to change the HTML on your category pages (I'm guessing this is the page you're referring to with the grid) so that it shows this somewhere in the listing for each item on the page:

[product_id]:  [id]
