Adding sidebox widgets to custom home page

I have the left and right bars turned off for the home page. But I took the exact html for the Categories and put it in the home.html file. But the categories don't show up. They show up on the inside pages.
So do the sidebox widgets not work on other html pages??

3Dcart designs are dynamically populated using variables; not all variables work in every page. here the guide to know what is available where:

Also, remember you need to copy the commented tags too in order to code snippets to work, i.e. <!--START: XXXXX_XXXXX--> ... <!--END: XXXXX_XXXX-->

Yep, support said the category listing only work in the frame.html
