Offline payment code block or variable

Have setup an offline payment method for accepting Purchase Orders. Have defined an extra field in the payment type for customer to be required to enter a PO#. Functions well on checkout but cannot get the input value to show on the order confirmation page or on the email confirmation. Can someone point me to the appropriate code block or variable to use?

I've never used the custom input fields for offline methods before, but looking at the template files I would be willing to bet that there is no code block which will display them in either the email or order confirmation :(

Maybe you could work around it with the order comments box?

Not a great solution.

Who else is accepting Purchase Orders from your customers? Surely somebody is.
