Daily deals and regular Coupon code promotions

Hello all.
I run the Daily Deals on my site and I'm also going to be running some 10% off coupons for the holidays. I would like to set it up so you can have a daily deal item in your cart and a regular item, and be able to use the 10% off coupon code and only have it discount the regular item, not both the regular item and the daily deal item. Can someone help me out?

I have a similar question. We have Daily Deals running and a 15% coupon code. We have the promotion set to be non-stackable, but it seems that the promotion is still not allowed because of the Daily Deal. Help!
