Google verification html

I've searched and seem to find a variety of things that don't work. Can anyone tell me where to insert the:

googlexxxxxxxxx.html

for site verification? It has to be able to pull up:

www.mysite.com/googlexxxxxxxxxx.html

I can't figure out where it goes.

Nevermind--found out how to do it with the meta tag instead on this page:
