deleting several categories?

Is there a way to delete several categories quickly?

Going through the category screens on the back end is insane! I have probably about 100 categories/subcategories to delete and do not want to spend the next month using the category screens on the back end.

Not guaranteed, but I remember that if you import the categories with a - (minus) sign in front of the Category id, it will delete it.
Edit: I know the minus sign works with products

Can I just upload the categories that need to be deleted as an "update" like with products or do I need to upload the whole database file?

You only need to upload whatever is changing.

I just tested this. You can add the minus sign for deletions, and only upload the category you want to delete.
With Excel you will need to put an apostrophe (') before the minus sign (ex: '-135), then save as CSV to import into 3dcart. without the ' Excel will think it is a wrong formula.
