Replace sidebar category listing with image

I'd like to replace the category list on the left sidebar with images for each category.

I have three categories, and instead of listing each category by name, I want to display an image for each category.

If you have any advice or feedback on how to accomplish, please let me know.

This is totally doable. It will require you to name your images with the CATID of each category.

When I face a question like this, the first step I go to is Templates and Design Docs. What I am looking for is there a unique value/variable that is inuse.

The code block for the category structure is:

There are two variables used. CATID and CATEGORY.

3dcart will send a number for CATID and the Text for CATEGORY. The Catid will not change. Category Name will get changed more frequently. For this reason, I would use the CATID.

Each Category has a unique CATID. I can use this as part of an image name.

3dCart will substitute the CATID with a number. For example:

Category_image_CATID.jpg => Category_image_3.jpg

As long as you treat the template variables as variables, you have a large number of possible variants you can use.
