How can I add my sales rep reference name in any online order?

I need to be able to allow customers to add the name of my sales rep when they place their orders online. I have checked out the affiliate program, and I cannot use this as no link can be put on his/her website. This is sales by visits.
I am not so happy about using the coupon function, as someone suggested, as I dont want my customers to recieve any special rebate in this case. I guess we could use the comment field, but that does not feel so proffessional either.
Any suggestions is highly appreciated.
