    We make a lot of custom products on demand an even though we explain the lead times in multiple places, and a checkout question set up like a terms and conditions where they must type "yes" to checkout, customers still order, dont put a need by date in the order comments as instructed and then get ticked when it doesn't show up on time.

    One of the ideas to help with this is to offer different processing speeds for different surcharges. If you want normal 7-10 day processing, no upcharge, 5 day a small upcharge, 3 day a bigger one.

    This needs to be required, and selectable during the checkout, and seperate of the shipping charges (because we sell non custom items too)

    Any idea how to set this up?

    Perfect world would have it show up only if there are certain SKU's in the cart. :)

    My only thought would be to use the shipping AND HANDLING cost option to include an amount for the extra processing speed, but you would have to explain to the buyer what this extra handling cost was for. In your checkout questions, you can make "the need by date" MANDATORY when you set this up.

      I believe all you would need to do is go Settings > Shipping > Methods, find your method, add the dollar amount to the Markup, and edit the caption to reflect the processing time.
