Facebook, Pinterest, and other social buttons do not show up on all items

I have noticed that the Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and email button menu does not appear for certain items. I've done some testing and it appears that they may be disabled or not applicable when the stock is "0" I want to customers and the public to be able to share even 0 stock items (some may be available for custom order).
Does anyone know a way around this? Have I missed a settings button somewhere?

You're right. I never noticed that. I don't see an option to disable or enable that.
