Add Product Description to Home Page

What's the easiest way to add product description information for each item to the Home Page without reinventing the wheel? 3dcart seems to limit what type of information that can be put for each item. For example, the current setup allows the Product Name but I would like to show other information for example the sizes available and a brief description.

Here is a link to the 3dcart guide http://www.3dcart.com/guide/ , it shows you which code variables are allowed on each page.

It does not appear that product description is allowed on home.html. There could be a workaround, so maybe someone else can chime in.
