It is 2016 and in order to do product feeds for internet marketing this field is a requirement.

It's been awhile since I listed a new product, because I have all the products I can restore without adding more LOL but I believe I put mine in one of the extra fields. That was way back when

I put the required feed fields I was missing in the extra fields. For me it was Google and I needed condition, gender, color, google taxonomy, ID available, and manufacturer (I don't use the 3dcart manufacturer field for various reasons) all in the extra fields. Then I set up those fields to match the required ones in the feed. It sucks since you have to edit things when they change the feed requirements but you get used to it after awhile.
