Robots.txt and Googlebot

A few days ago I got a warning from Google about my images not being crawled and to add the following to the Robotx.txt:

User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow:
User-agent: Googlebot-image
Disallow:

I added and pages are still not being crawled and the Google Mobile text says the site is being blocked by the Robots.txt -- how long does it take for a new robots.txt to be picked up by Google?

Hey Joe -

Try having Googlebot crawl your site, and see what it says about your file. This is from https://www.google.com/webmasters/to...s-testing-tool

GonzaloGil Gonzalo, can you update the image restrictions so we can post legible screenshots? It's difficult to help people out when we're restricted to 200-something pixels.

I couldn't find any setting limiting it on the software, but, hit save anyway, and uploaded a pic here, and it seems to have fixed it, at least, it let me upload a large image.

Thanks Dean -- I found out my issue. I switched my site over to all https: and I didn't copy the robots.txt to the secure entry.

Birdsafe Make sure that you also adjust your url in your robots to reflect https instead of http in both sections. You can always manually update your robots.txt in google webmaster tools and in turn request crawls as well.
