Sale with expiration date

Is it possible to set a sale for products or category with a set expiration date (that will be shown on the product page preferably) .

I am not talking about 'Promotion date', which we do not see on the product page

Example: an item on sale from the 10th to the 20th

One way to do it is with "Daily Deals". Gives you a count down and everything.

Not really. That would not work when you do a sale on 100s of products at a time

There is something called "Promotion Scheduler" on the 3dCart Roadmap. Perhaps, this will be what you need.
