Removing https pages from google

I'm a 3dcart user and new to this forum.
For the last year I am having problems with google indexing my webpages in both via http and https, which lead to duplicate content issues. Now I have many omitted pages in google, which negatively affected my ranking. Does anyone know how to permanently remove duplicate secure pages from the search engines?
What actually causes this problem and how can it issue be prevented in the future? I appreciate any advise. Thanks in advance!

I was having the same problem and this may not be the correct way but it fixed my problem and I don't see any of my https pages being crawl anymore and the way I fixed it was to make the robots.txt and https_robots.txt files listed in store modules the same. The way below is how I have mine set.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /checkout.asp
Disallow: /add_cart.asp
Disallow: /view_cart.asp
Disallow: /error.asp
Disallow: /shipquote.asp
Disallow: /rssfeed.asp
Disallow: /mobile/
Disallow: /admin/

Removing https pages from google

Thanks for your reply - I really appreciate it. I don't know if I understood you correctly. As I understand it - You listed all the individually indexed https pages in the https robot.txt file.
What about the https content pages such as product pages and category pages? I have a lot of regular content pages also indexed in the https version. Do you list them also in the https robot.txt file. This would become a long list !
Lastly, how long did it take to get them removed from the google index?
