Has Google changed the recommended number of characters changed from 70? 3d cart now recommends 140.

To my knowledge they have not changed the title character count. The meta description suggests a higher amount. I will be checking screaming frog in a bit, as our titles and descriptions seem to have some discrepancies, per their program.

Google has NEVER had a character count for title tags. They use pixels because there is only so much width to that "headline" in a search and some letters (especially capital letters) take up far more width than others.
