Record keeping in 3D Cart or Quickbooks

My website is not yet live but I have a basic question about record keeping. I will be using 3D Cart with a bridge to Quickbooks and importing the orders into QB as Sales Receipts. There should be one program that is the go-to repository for all transactions. I tend to think that it should be QB but am not certain. Is there anyone who uses 3D Cart with QB and uses 3D Cart for sales records/histories.

We use QB with the 3dCart plugin. It works well. Basically we use the data in 3dCart for day to day communication with our customers, etc, and use the Quickbooks data for tax/accounting purposes. Does that answer your question?
