Benefits of New Plan?

I've tried contacting the Sales staff about this question and I'm not sure they understood -- just wondered if any of the 3dCart folks here can guide me.

I'm under a Legacy Plan - one that at one time included all features/modules. Now, I'm faced with a few features apparently not supported or new features not available to me:

Pre-Orders
Autoresponder Campaigns
Ability to separate Quick Cart from Quick View

At $100 a month more, I am trying to figure out what else am I missing? Not sure those three features are worth $100/month.

Try to contact Customer Service or Billing and see if they can add some insight if you should be receiving the new features. They are usually quite helpful.

You can only do that if you are under one of the new plans.

**Buyer Beware" -- you have to expand one of the question sections to find out that under any of these plans you cannot make more than $400k a year -- which, to be honest, is outrageous for the "Pro" plan.

Pack Secure -- I have tried this twice, and all I get is that I can upgrade to an existing plan, but oh, wait, my store doesn't qualify because I have made more than $400k -- so its either stay with my legacy plan or jump to Enterprise.

Once your trailing twelve month sales volume exceeds $400,000, you will graduate to our Enterprise solution. This is calculated by adding up the sales volume you've processed over the last twelve months in USD; or if you have not yet been with 3dcart for twelve months, your sales volume processed over your existing time with 3dcart prorated to 12 months. This gives you the infrastructure needed to keep growing your business.

purge is coming ... I guess most established business will migrate to new platforms... we should start preparing already.. I cloned my stores with woocommerce already ..will not allow anyone to tell me what I need or don't need .. dedicated managed servers cost about $200 per month .. you can host 10-20 sites on it with blazing speed

My understanding is that these 'arbitrary' amounts were put in place so that 3d has a baseline to work with when dealing with customers who overwhelm their system with A LOT of small orders. They were much more open minded / flexible with me since I let them know that I sell large / expensive items (up to $5k+), and with that, 3d's billing / account department was understanding of, and accommodated my situation. I would disagree with your assessment in that: It is not "arbitrary" at all -- once you hit that $400k in a trailing 12 months, are "moved" to an Enterprise plan. Now, in my case, I can chug along under my legacy plan at $129/month with no "limit" on anything -- but, as I stated earlier, there are new features that I cannot access under the legacy plan, so I would need to move to one of the new Pro Plans at $229/month - but ooops, my store doesn't qualify for that because I have already made more than $400k in 12 months (this is what sales has told me). so in order to get the few features that I would like to add, I need to go to Enterprise, which according to Jimmy's post in the other thread, runs in increments of $50-$100 more a month OVER the Pro Plan -- so now I'm up to at least $279/month -- a full $150 more a month that I'm paying now, and it's not worth it for those few features.

You are right Birdsafe the word arbitrary is not accurate here. It sounds like you have made your decision with regards to price vs features. I am seeing this type of pricing structure occur elsewhere too. BigCommerce throws people into plans 4x what you mentioned, and it leaves Shopify to provide lower priced plans, but trust me when I tell you that their app store fees will easily cost more than the base subscription fee itself.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but as long as they're doing their job well, paying less than 1% of sales to the company that manages your infrastructure and provides 24-7 support doesn't seem that outrageous. I only take issue when they screw up, make me sit on hold for 17 hours, or make me harass them in order to get something fixed. Wish there was a way to dock their pay sometimes.

bzeltzer -- you have a point about the percentage of overall sales, but on low-margin stores, every percentage is important. My issue is two-fold: as someone who was "enticed" over from another platform and purchased the highest level plan that included everything, now all of a sudden that is no longer the case. New features are not available to me unless I dish out 125-percent more than I'm currently paying. I also have a problem referring people to a platform that puts out all these great features on the Pricing page and lists "unlimited orders" as one of these features, only to find out - and you have to click all those arrows to expand the fine print to find it -- that means only the NUMBER of orders, not the value.

The point has been made about the impact on the infrastructure of a store making that kind of money -- I don't see how a store that sells, say, 500 $1,000 items has a greater impact on infrastructure than does a store that is selling 750,000 50-cent items. I'm not clear how the dollar value of a particular order impacts resources.

I have been told, well if your store doesn't impact resources that much you shouldn't have to pay much for an Enterprise plan -- but as I said it would be a MINIMUM doubling of my current cost.

It's just frustrating to me because I have seen this happen before on three other platforms after having been on them for 3-4 years.
