Template/Theme changes don't take effect unless...

I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this, or can help.

Every time I make template or theme changes via the Admin (Settings > Design > Themes & Styles) and (Settings > Design > Template Editor), or simply via FTP, I have to switch to another theme and then back to my original theme before I can see the updates in my store.

Does anyone know why this occurs? It is a major inconvenience. Is this normal, or is there something simple I am missing?

Hi Nick,
I think this is because you have cache on, the setting is on settings->general->Store settings (bottom section), you can turn it off while designing, just make sure you turn it back on when you are done as it helps make the store faster.

Also, you could just leave it on and click the clear cache button on that same page..
