how do i put an "information" block under "category" block?

Are pages like this:

and this:

Handmade Baby Bibs Cloth Diapers and Accessories by Snuggli Bebe

That I know are 3dcart stores based on a custom design, or is there a way without doing custom coding to get that information block on the left hand side with page links under it?

You can do this at:
Settings>Design>Header and Footer: Global Left Banner

It has a "WYSIWYG Mode" where you don't need to know coding/programming in order to add something there.

Remember to click the "Enable" and clear cache when you are ready to display it on your site.

To be more clear on my question -- I have buttons in my own left banner under my categories:

Welcome to QuirkyBaby -- fun & functional baby slings & accessories

But to replicate what these sites have, instead of something auto-populated from the Categories I set up, would I need to add an Information logo and then specify the links/pages? Or is there an option to have an Information block that's dynamically populated with the links/pages that I would set up and specify like I do Categories?

If you want it to be dynamic, you will need custom coding

The area that adds the "content pages" dynamically is actually being used in your footer right now:

QB Quiz -- About QB -- Shipping & Returns -- Policies -- QB Affiliate Program -- Product Index

You can change this to the left column. You will have to make custom links for your footer to replace the ones stated above.

It does take some custom coding as Elegant mentioned. But it's not horribly in depth as long as your site was built correctly.
