When designing a custom 3dcart theme, I don't HAVE to use tables do I?

I've been using div tags and css and it seems that it works fine, but my experience is that every template I've come across uses tables!

You can eliminate like 99% of the tables. That is just what they use for their templates. Hopefully that will change soon. For the most part their engine will handle divs just fine, though.

ugh... and it's such a pain. I've put it off and put it off but I can't get the layout i want without stripping it of all these tables... PITA!!!
