make header clickable?

is there a way to make the top header clickable to bring the customer back to the home page? I looked in the frame.html template file and had no luck finding it. if I switch to using a global header, Im affraid of losing the search and the shopping cart. any helpwould be appreciated.

You will not lose the shopping cart or search by using the global header.
