Restricting Size of Item Image on Email Confirmation

We uploaded very large, hi-res images for all of our items. But now whenever someone purchases and receives the email confirmation, the picture of the item (it is pulling from the Dropdown image option) takes up almost the whole confirmation page. I know it is because of how large and high resolution images we uploaded.

After talking to 3dCart on the Help chat, they mentioned that if you can code, which I cannot, you can add a line of code into the "Settings - Design - Emails - New Order Customer" somewhere which will limit the size the image can be on the email confirmation regardless of how large the image actually is.

Any ideas? I would love for someone to be say "type this _____, and here" and BOOM it works!

First are you using the updated email templates? v2?

And does the thumbnail code look like this?

I do not believe so, when I go there it says at the top "Note:Installed version is outdated" and it says the installed version is 1.... should I switch to 2? Will that cause any problems anywhere?

If you see there... in your thumbnail settings, there is nothing that says how BIG it should be. The code I cut and pasted was from v2.

In that code you can see things like "width="80"" and "style="width: 80px !important;". They fixed the coding error in their v2, so that image size would be limited to 80px.

Im surprised support did not tell you this! And there is no reason to not update. The new template they made is better in every way. If you want to be safe, just cut and paste what you have in there now, so you can revert back if you dont like the new one.

Wow! Thank you! All I did was switch to version 2 and it worked. Thanks a bunch, not sure why 3dCart couldn't have told me that lol.

So..... here I am again. As you can see above, I thought it was fixed, and it should be. I switched to version 2, and clicked Preview and it showed up perfectly, the image was small as it should be, and I saved it.

But now we just received another order, and when we received the email confirmation, the image is huge again, even though looking at it right now with the Preview button, it is not large and it is small like we want it.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I missed that you asked another question... The emails you get are not the same as the emails sent to the customer... I assume you only updated that one email??

You should update them all to v2.

New order - Customer
New order - Merchant (Thats the one you get)
Processing
Partially Shipped
Shipped

Etc....
