Is there a way capture an order from a gift registry that has different product options than were specified by the registry creator?

I don't think so.
It's a pet peeve of mine when people answer someone's question with... why would you ever want to do that? I am often in the situation of wanting to use features for something other than what they were intended for.
However in this case I believe the logic is that if the person setting up the gift registry wanted a Red Widget, we should not allow the buyer to select a Blue Widget. Since allowing such action would result in the receiver being disappointed. -
The logic makes sense, of course. This is just a case of the registry creator not being the same person for whom the item is being purchased. And it's clothes, so the recipient may need to choose a size different from what the registry creator selected.Comment
