Rewards Points

Anyone know of a way to add reward points automaticly on a new customer account? Id like to add points to customer that create accounts as an incentive. I know I can do this manually but would be interested to know if it can be done without doing it manually

I haven't looked at trying it, but I think you can create an automatic promotion that adds Rewards Points to a cart, and then set it to only being used one time per customer, and that should provide the results you are looking for.
