Core Template - where to edit home page product "add to cart"

I'd like to change "Add to Cart" to go to the Product Details instead. I used to do this in home.html under ITEM_TEMPLATE_0 in the html templates but now can't find the code anywhere. I can see something that refers to [product_items] but, no matter how much I study the core template documentation, I can't figure out what that means.
